Penny Feder graduated with a BA in Art Education and a MA in printmaking. Her work for many years was in woodcuts, etchings and monotypes and she traveled the US exhibiting at juried art festivals. She has won many awards including 1st and 2nd prizes (2 different years) at the Coconut Grove Art show in Florida.

Penny is now working with mixed media collage on canvas. Her subjects are realistic but very interpretive, stylistic yet recognizable. She loves color that ‘sing’, textures you want to touch, shapes and movement.

In addition, Penny has exhibited internationally, including: the Museum Duren in Germany and the Galerijzolder and Rifkcentrum in Belgium. Her work has also been accepted into juried shows which include: The Institute of Arts and Letters, The National Arts Club and National Academies , The Salmagundi Club, and the World Trade Center Gallery in NYC. Also, the Philadelphia Print Club, La Salle and Perdue Universities.

Penny’s work is in the collections of the National Museum of American Art at the Smithsonion Institute, Nynex Corp., Bristol-Myers Squibb, Brooklyn Union Gas Co, Olympia Medical Center in Seattle WA., Italian Leather Co., NY and Italy, Holland American and Cunard Lines, to name a few.

She has done licensing designs for Pier One Imports, Original Print Collectors Group, Antioch Publishing, Atheneum Books, Thermo-serve, Gold Medal Hosiery, Gibson Cards, Gallison Books, Modern Art Editions, Calhoun Collector Society and others. Penny’s work has also been seen on network television in show that include: Sisters, Can’t Hurry Love, Roseanne, Melrose Place, Seaquest and In the House.

Professional positions include: juror for selections and awards for national competitions and exhibitions, and being a demonstrator for schools and arts organizations on printmaking techniques.
