Sergio Villaschi

Portfolio Categories: Artists Exclusively Online and Wood Artisans.

Sergio moved from Rome, the Eternal City to a small town in CT after an early retirement  from an academic life in Surgical Pathology. Here he could finally develop his interest for photography which he practiced as a hobby all his life and his passion for wood turning.

While his wood turned pieces, which are both usable and decorative such as bowls, mills or vases  have been displayed in numerous Connecticut Shows  (Guilford, Greenwich/Bruce Museum, Glastonbury, Wilton Historical Society and more)  and in Galleries such as the Gordon Fine Arts in Stamford, Gallery 25 in New Milford and the Artisan Guild In Norfolk, his photographs are displayed in public  for the first time in the exhibit “See Me Fell Me”.

Sergio is a mainly self thought photographer and while his photos include macro photography and landscapes, he often indulges in still life compositions where he can play with light and color to give depth and vibrancy to his creations. The careful use of post processing techniques allows him to give a new life to everyday objects, flowers or fruits.
