Iacopo Pasquinelli was born in Florence, Italy. He began designing as a child and studied formally in the studio of a well-known Florentine painter, Tiziano Bonnani. Inspired by the majestic beauty of Northern Tuscany, Iacopo has completed a series of paintings that illustrate his romantic view of the countryside he knows well. Recently, Iacopo has moved to the States and spends his time in Long Island and Connecticut where he interprets what is striking to him about the coastal areas of the Northeast – “the immense and luminous sky that touches horizon in far off places without the interference of hills”.
He is awed by the coast, where the land and water unexpectedly flow directly into the sky. Consequently, his paintings reflect his search for the representation of the depth in these new horizons. Iacopo has garnered many awards and honors. Namely, in 2015, he won a “Merit Award” in the Regional Juried Art Exhibit at the Mystic Arts Center. He also had the distinction of being a “Landscape Finalist” in the 2006 Artist Magazine Annual Competition. Iacopo is also an elected member of the New York Foundation for the Arts “Mark10 Program” for professional artists. In 2014, he had a successful solo exhibit at the Huntington Library “Main Gallery” and has exhibited artwork in several shows at the prestigious Lyme Art Association. His artwork is in public and private collections around the world.
