Azra Hussain is a distinctive jewelry artist. She is a mother of three who lives in Southern Connecticut. She’s been making jewelry since 2006. It all started when she moved to New England from the DC Metropolitan area. She gets her inspiration from the four distinct seasons of New England and from her Indian-American heritage where bright colors and fine handiwork are the norm. Her works are a hybrid between her Indian heritage and Western cultivation.

Her pieces are simple but elegant and are unique, being the only one of its kind. No two of her necklaces look the same. She enjoys infusing drama and colour into her works. Each work requires intricate sculpting with hours of patience.

She works with glass beads and semi-precious stone chips. She likes the transparency and smooth texture of the glass beads. The stone chips bring contrast to the glass beads with distinct erratic edges and brilliant colors. She brings these stones and beads together in coils and strands with shimmering materials such as silver, gold, and copper wires.

Azra brings a unique perspective to her works of art and her pieces are both exquisite and affordable. Her idea of color play is very unique and bold. Wearing a piece that she’s made is sure to bring you a compliment as she likes the works to bring attention to the wearer and the jewelry is sure to make a bold first impression during any occasion.
