October 10 – November 9 IMG_0583-65For the first time, the Arts Center Killingworth’s Annual Autumn Arts Festival (October 11-12) includes a Group Gallery Show of select pieces from participating Festival artists at the new Spectrum Gallery and Store. This month-long exhibition (October 10-November 9) opens with a free Reception, Friday, October 10 (6:30-9:00pm) at the Gallery, 61 Main Street, Centerbrook, CT. The Spectrum Gallery and Store is open Wednesday-Saturday (11am-6pm) and Sunday (11:00am-5:00pm). “This fall we celebrate the Arts Festival’s ten-year anniversary, and with it our new Gallery and Store in Centerbrook,” says Barbara Nair, Director of the Arts Center Killingworth and Spectrum Gallery. “This is also the first time that the Festival and now the Gallery Group Show have been juried by an Arts Center committee. Many of the public’s favorites are back, plus a number of new artists were invited to participate based on the quality of their work or their use of unique materials such as alcohol inks, paper, oil sticks on silk and even gemstones incorporated into painting.” The Autumn Arts Festival and Gallery Show involves artists and artisans from throughout the Shoreline area and parts of Connecticut including Fairfield, Danbury, Hartford, Stratford, New Haven, New Britain, Waterford, as well as Rhode Island and New York. IMG_0582-64 Spectrum Gallery and Store, an expansion of the Arts Center Killingworth, opened in the spring of 2014 and presents approximately five annual exhibits showcasing painting, mixed media, sculpture and photography.
